Christian Post on High School Musical 3 Study

Chris on October 14th, 2008

The Christian Post ran a piece on our very own Kurt Johnston‘s High School Musical 3 Bible study he wrote. For those of you who hadn’t see it in our newsletters, Disney asked Kurt to write a special curriculum to go along with the movie.  It’s designed for you to create your very own WildCatsWeekend.  I know the students I work with are supper excited about this movie, and the study Kurt wrote is great.  Did I mention it’s FREE?

See the article here.

Visit our page to see Kurt talk about it.

am not surprised.

I suspected that some pastor would use HSM3 to make their “church” relevant.

I wouldnt be surprised if this also happens with the Twilight film also that is coming out in a few weeks (another movie geared at teens)

BTW:

bible study is a oxymoron nowadays when many churches have bible studies on anything but the bible.

Turns out the HSM3 “Bible Study” is an Epic Fail!

Chris Rosebrough reviewed the HSM3 “Bible Study” on his radio program. Unfortunately, the ‘biblical’ content of the study was awful because it was taken out of context, twisted to be ‘me centered’ and spent more time discussing group-therapy type questions than it did actually teaching what God’s word says. You can listen to the review at the page listed below.
