Justin BolingMore PostsOh My…It’s Katie! (episode 37)

The one and only Katie Edwards joins the fellas this week! In addition to debating just how “Godly” Katie is, the trio talks about a variety of tips, tricks and tidbits to kicking off an incredible fall. Plus, they spend way too much time on an email from the Youth Worker Nation, and a sponsor sends in two gifts…and somehow Jason ends up with both.

Justin BolingMore PostsTips To Improve YOUR Blog from Chuck Norris!!

It’s safe to assume that you have a blog, as it must be a requirement to be a youth worker. However here are a couple tips to improve your blogging…

  1. Use Images! It’s true they actually dospeak 1,000 words.
  2. Keep Posts Short & Sweet. It’s easy to write about something we are passionate about, but its hard to write about that same thing and keep it short!
*FACT most readers give you 15-30 seconds before they are on to the next thing!
  3. Create Practical Lists. Like this one “4 Theological Teaching Tips”. This is intriguing to the reader, and it yells THIS IS A SHORT BLOG POST!
  4. Chuck Norris! Just saying his name will increase your blog traffic by 1,000,000%!

Justin BolingMore Posts3 Learnings from the Aurora Tragedy

In light of last nights horrific incident at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater…what are you to do?

Click Here for Resources on Ministering to Teens Crisis

1) Talk to your students about it! This a great opportunity to ask your students, in any setting…small group especially, what they think about the entire story. Their response may surprise you, and may show you that have been listening.

2) Talk to the parents of your ministry! This event can be used as an amazing tool to help equip parents, and thus encourage them to know where their daughters and sons are both spiritually and physically.

3) KEEP loving students! We often times get frustrated, lazy, reluctant to reach out to that one student. This event proves that youth work as a whole and that young people need positive influences in their life!

Justin BolingMore PostsThe Secret Lives of Pastors Kids!

On this week’s episode, Jason and Kurt talk about their own approach to raising kids as youth workers. Should you give your own kids special privileges? Should you take them to youth group events? How do you handle the pressure they feel as “Pastors Kids”? And….the typical hijinks happen: they struggle with their new timer, proudly mention a sponsor and introduce a contest worth $5,000!

Justin BolingMore PostsUS is #1 Tweeting Country!

Call it the United States of Tweets.

According to a study by the Oxford Internet Institute that examined which countries use Twitter the most, citizens in the U.S. interact with Twitter more than any other country, followed by Brazil, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom.

Midwest you need to start tweeting!

follow @SimplyInsider on Twitter

Click on the above image to enlarge this one…super fascinating the number of tweeters vs internet users per country!
