76 Youth Workers!

on August 23rd, 2011

Right now our team is sitting with 76 youth workers from around the nation.  These short three days, which we call our Youth Ministry ReGroup, are nothing short of amazing, and our team looks forward to them each and every year.  This year we have Mark DeVries & Jeff Dunn-Rankin from Youth Ministry Architects in house going beyond the content in their book Indispensable Youth Pastor.  The beauty of this summit is that our team is refreshed by spending time with those we are blessed to serve YOU!  Our heart is to do nothing but create resources that encourage, help, simplify, and guide your students towards Jesus.  Words cannot express the amount of passion, energy, and love for students that is in this room right now.  This is why we do what we do!

So if your reading this THANK YOU FOR LOVING STUDENTS!  That is all we have to say!

A Glimpse into the Porthole of Pop-youth Culture

An article from Jonathan McKee and David R. Smith at TheSource4YM.com

Thousands of screaming teenagers crammed into a Los Angeles amphitheater along with a few hundred celebrities, giving us a glimpse once again into the porthole of contemporary pop-youth culture.

For those parents willing to peek into this porthole, we think they’ll discover it’s time for a heart-to-heart talk between parents and teens.

The FOX is Very Sly
On Sunday night, August 7, 2011, FOX aired their annual awards show geared at teenagers, a show they simply call The Teen Choice Awards. This 2-hour long televised show has been an annual event in FOX’s lineup since its premier in 1999. FOX’s shtick doesn’t venture too far from MTV’s incredibly popular Video Music Awards (The VMAs) and Movie Awards shows that also feature cool hosts, live performances, funny videos, and pick-your-winner voting.

Speaking of winning, tons of A-list celebrities show up each year to take home a…Click Here to Read More

ATTN: Middle School Youth Workers

on August 15th, 2011

It’s camp for junior high youth workers!
Let’s be honest about this:  it’s not every adult who wakes up thinking, “How can I spend some time with 13 year-olds today, and influence them for Jesus?”

That calling, that wiring, is extremely unique and wonderful.  And our wise and wonderful God, who cares so passionately about the young teens in your church, chose YOU!  You are truly one of the few, one of the unique; and you are God’s plan for showing love to middle schoolers.

But this ministry is difficult, and sometimes lonely.  You need to be surrounded by others who understand you, who share your calling. That’s why we created the Middle School Ministry Campference.

We’ve blended the best of a conference with the experience of a camp for youth workers who care about young teens.  Whether veteran or rookie, known or unknown, we’ll all be on this adventure together.

This is not a traditional conference, but a tribal gathering and growth event, with an opt-in mix of learning, worship, community, dialogue and play.

Bring a team if you can; but even if you come alone, you won’t be alone for long!
