99 Things College-Age People Need to Know

on March 4th, 2008

just sent off the manuscript for SYM’s latest book, tentatively called 99 Things College-Age People Need to Know by Chuck Bomar.  the idea of the book is to give graduating seniors as well as college freshman a quick glimpse of how they can succeed in college, whether that’s getting along with their roommates, growing spiritually, shower etiquette, etc.  here’s a little taste…

Random Daily Life “Wisdom”

As we go through life we experience realities that we never expected.  Some things are more serious than others, but we all have things we’ve learned over time.  So, here are a few random thoughts regarding your daily life as a college-age person:

  1. Drying your clothes doesn’t mean they’re clean!
  2. The world does not revolve around you.  Embracing this in your life will save you a lot of frustration when things don’t go the way you wanted them to.
  3. “The freshman 15” is real.
  4. Don’t be intimidated by people.  People are like spiders – they’re more afraid of you than you are of them.
  5. Some people are like dogs too – they’ll be your best friend as long as you feed them and the next thing you know they’re peeing all over your stuff.  Serving people is good, but enabling a con-artist is another.  Serve, don’t enable.
